Thalia Phone patch Interview From Los Angeles

MEXICO, D.F.—Although Thalía confesses that she is not obsessed to
prevail in Hollywood, 20th Century Fox included her for the second time
in one of their new
projects when her song "Es Tu Amor" was chosen by the company executives
to be included in the film "Ever After:  A Cinderella Story."

Via telephone, the queen of Latin entertainment talked with the El
Universal Newspaper in Mexico City from her home in Los Angeles,
California where she promotes this movie among the Hispanic audience.

"I am happy because 20th Century Fox called me again!" said Thalía.
"They consider that I am the ideal figure to arrive to Latin America."

The first time that Thalia had a song used in a major motion picture was
in 1997 when 20th Century Fox used "Viaje Tiempo Atras" in the film
"Anastasia."

"They were enchanted not only by my work, but also they were surprised
with the response from the Spanish-speaking public, because thanks to
the affection that Mexico, Argentina, Venezuela, Brazil, Colombia and
others have for me, the film was well received."

Thalía will dedicate some time to the release of "Ever After: A
Cinderella Story."  Still, she thinks recording a video of "Es Tu Amor"
will project in Mexico when finalizing each function.

"The tape is beautiful," Thalía responded.  "One is a love story based
on the story of 'Cinderella,' because weeks ago it was released in the
United States and it fascinated me, because my song is perfect with the
plot."

Thalía also indicated that for a long time she has been maintaining
talks with 20th Century Fox to act in one of their films.

"There is still nothing concrete," explained Thalía.  "Yes, I have many
desires to work in the cinema, but it is not my obsession to prevail in
Hollywood, because the Hispanic audience deserves great respect from me.
Thanks to them I am the one who I am."

Thalía anticipated that in December she will begin the recording of her
new telenovela.  The new telenovela is untitled at this time and will be
produced by Salvador Mejía, the same producer rumored to have offered Thalia
a double-role in his outstanding success "La Usurpadora".  earlier, Thalía
rejected an offer by Mejía to participate in a telenovela tentatively
titled "La Otra."

Will her character be like the one she played in the telenovela "Maria
la del Barrio"?

"Mmmh...not exactly.  After recording 'Marimar,' 'María Mercedes,' and
'María la del Barrio,' it is difficult to take a day off for another
image.  Nevertheless, I want to do something soon, with time, completely
forgetting those types of characters."
